Self-driving cars are one step closer to becoming a daily reality for drivers in the United States! Many auto manufacturers worldwide are clamoring to be among the first and best to produce vehicles that can steer and respond with little to no driver input. FCA and Google have recently partnered up to test Google’s self-driving technologies in select 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans. This significant event marks the first time that Google has directly paired up with an auto brand to integrate its autonomous driving technology into a passenger vehicle.

For the initial testing phase, FCA will engineer approximately 100 vehicles that can utilize Google’s self-driving technologies. The selected 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans will be extensively tested to help both Google and FCA identify ways to enhance safety to reduce the high number of deaths that occur from human error on American roadways.
