The safety of vehicle occupants has always been a priority of the Jeep brand and more evidence of this fact arose yesterday when the automaker announced that the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 was recently awarded a Five-Star Overall Safety Rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In earning the government's highest rating, the Grand Cherokee earned five-star ratings in each of the three major crash assessments--a head-on collision, a two-vehicle side-impact collision, and a side impact with a pole.

The 2017 Grand Cherokee boasts more than 70 available safety and security features, including advanced technologies such as forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning and intervention, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors.
