It’s starting to get cold again and, unfortunately, it may be time to forego windowless drives, and let the heat back in. If you don’t already know how to remove your Jeep’s hard top, bookmark this guide to refer to, so you never have to fumble around with taking it off it again.

Start by Removing the Front Panels

  • Remove the left panel first by unclipping the sun visor and carefully moving it out of the way. Next, turn the middle L-shaped locks from the center of the roof panel.
  • Then, turn the rear L-shaped lock sitting above the shoulder belt anchor.
  • Turn the back fastener knobs, on the overhead speaker bar assembly, counterclockwise until they’re loose enough to be removed.
  • Unfasten the header panel latch at the top of the windshield and take off the panel.
  • Repeat these steps for the right side.
  • Now that the panels are out of the way, you’re ready to take off the hard top.
