Everyone in Durango is making plans for Halloween. Here at Morehart Murphy Regional Auto Center, we want to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday!
With a large number of pedestrians on the streets trick-or-treating, the danger of accidents is high. We want to remind you to take caution and follow these safe driving tips for Halloween this year:
- Do not drive if you have been consuming alcohol. Get a designated driver.
- Put your phone away while you are behind the wheel. Texting and driving can be just as dangerous as driving drunk.
- Take into account that children are present and may be unpredictable. Drive more slowly than usual so you will be ready to stop.
- Give trick-or-treaters the right of way. Youngsters may be too excited to remember traffic rules.
- Drive with your headlights turned on at all times. The lights make your vehicle much more visible to pedestrians.
- Be extra cautious when entering or leaving driveways and side streets.
